The State of Virginia proudly gives recognition to Prince William County as the third largest county.  With our growth, lower interest rates, and a heightened interest in the home, the green industry is especially booming.  Beyond the typical kitchen and bathroom upgrades, these baby boomer homeowners are looking to create more space for enjoyment.  They have been making additional investments in decks, patios, outdoor furniture, fences, and of course, exterior landscape design.

Prince William County reports in the "2005 Annual Report on Economic Development" that our private sector will be increasing the amount of business and jobs. New, and expanding, businesses show an increase of 205 since 1997, with 21 new businesses in 2005 alone. Eastern Prince William County enjoyed an increase of of $13 million in revenue with 390 associated jobs. Obviously Prince William County is full of promise in its' 275th year!

In addition, local builders are utilizing a vast amount of windows to create an extension into the back yard.  There is also a trend for less acreage but increased privacy.  Nurseries are developing narrow evergreens to provide for this demand.  There's an increased production of patio trees and potted floral for pool and decks to compliment the new space.

Commercially, there is a trend to contract-out professional landscaping.  The in-house team can be absent of industry changes, quality, efficiencies, and quite costly.  An experienced company, such as Shear Scapes with a concentration in staying current with the industry can service these clients.

With the burst of homes in eastern Prince William County and the commercial trend to contract-out, Shear Scapes, Inc. is here to handle the work. We welcome residential and commercial clients for a vast array of services requesting "one deck pot" to "a 50' retaining wall". We are prepared to accommodate the recent trends.

The investment of your landscape and lawn care is an on-going process. These items are an aspect of your real estate property. It is not a one-time cost. Your interior real estate investment includes many aspects of maintenance such as heating and cooling systems, paint, carpet and plumbing. Landscape and lawn care are a part of your on-going exterior maintenance. Shear Scapes, Inc. looks to earn your business and then provide a service proposal for the season.

With incorporation in 1997, Shear Scapes, Inc. has consistently continued to enjoy no less than a 25% increase in sales over each year.  Sam and Nancy Marouf own this local family business.  From a 100 sq.ft. bedroom (office), a personal truck and a 400 sq.ft. garage (warehouse), the company now has a custom-designed office and warehouse, seven vehicles, two trailers, significant inventory and a vast array of equipment in the 4,000 sq.ft. Farm Creek Road location.

We have been homeowners in Prince William County since 1985.  Each business challenge has just made us stronger and more confident in moving forward with our commitment.  Our strong work ethics are a natural asset and most likely the most significant contribution to the business.

Sam's innate flair and gifted talent with the earth complements his natural people skills.  The consultation time with  the customer is most enjoyable to him.  He has the opportunity to connect directly with the individual customer.  His proficiency and competence in the field as well as his customer time creates the foundation for the project approval.

Real estate expertise, a financial career, proactive problem-solving techniques and instinctive administrative proficiencies are Nancy's contributions to the company.  Born in Leesburg, VA, her experience includes a 26 year civilian career with the U.S. Army and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Since 2004, we have chosen to be a part of a U.S. Government Employment Program (H2B/R) which allows our field team members to come to work for us for ten months a year. They have passports, work visas, and social security numbers. Therefore, all the workers on your property are fully documented. We are proud to be a part of this program. These team members are unmatched in their work performance.

The company's background, our commitment to family, and the team members' families have created a secure local area company with strong work ethics and intrinsic values of honesty and integrity.  Integrating our personal values with our team concept, we have elevated the company to new heights within the community and with our clients.
